Sometime Life Isn’t Fair

Heaven gained an angel of Friday afternoon. A sweet friend from high school/college passed away after a battle with pneumonia and ARDS. She had mono and then ended up in the ICU with pneumonia in both lungs. It all happened so quickly. Her husband had posted on FB earlier in the week that she was sedated in the ICU and by Friday afternoon she had passed away.

Lindsay and her husband Gabe were high school sweethearts-maybe even junior high sweethearts. They have 2 little boys, Brody and Cash. She won’t be here for Cash’s first birthday.

I met Lindsay in high school-we were in Student Council together. She was one of those people who was genuinely nice to everyone and someone you could always count on. Friday afternoon, my FB feed was full of people expressing their condolences and talking about what a great friend she was. A true testament to that was that the people who were posting were from all different groups in HS.

We went to college together and hung out a lot our freshman year, before we both became busy with school and organizations. I’ve spent the last 3 days trying to find the pictures I had of us our freshman year. I can’t find any of my pictures from college.

Her death really hit me hard. She is the first person from out graduating class to pass away. She was only 28. I keep thinking of her little boys. She was an amazing person and will definitely be missed by many.

You can see some pictures of her and her beautiful family (before Cash was born) here: http://www.paigewalkerphotography.com/blog/soon-to-be-4/

If you are the praying type, could you keep Gabe and the boys and their families in your prayers.

  3. Praying for her boys, her family, and you. Loss is difficult, especially when the person is young and it is unexpected. ((HUGS))
